Kinja'd!!!

There was Rory’s first car, which was a Dodge Lancer...

Kinja'd!!!

Too bad it got wrecked by Jess... It was a good car while it lasted.

Kinja'd!!!

But then Jess had a 1969 AMC Ambassador, which made up for it a little.

Kinja'd!!!

...And then Rory went and got a Prius, thus ruining her streak of cool cars. But then again, it was a gift, so you can’t really blame her.

Kinja'd!!!

Then, of course, there’s Luke’s Chevy C10, which suits him well.

Kinja'd!!!

And Richard’s... Packard, I believe? Too bad we never saw him actually driving it...

Kinja'd!!!

My personal favorite, Taylor’s 1964 Thunderbird, which somehow miraculously survived crashing into Luke’s diner...

Kinja'd!!!

Logan’s Porsche...

Kinja'd!!!

Richard and Emily’s assorted Jaaaags and Mercedes...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Christopher had several nice rides, with my favorite being his 1965 Mustang convertible.

Kinja'd!!!

The Life And Death Brigade’s 1940something Ford... And IIRC, one of them also drunkenly bought a 1984 Dodge Colt for no reason, although we never actually saw it...

Kinja'd!!!

Michele briefly had a motor home...

Kinja'd!!!

And Hep Alien had their Volkswagen Bus...

Kinja'd!!!

We briefly got to see Jackson’s classic truck... Chevy, I think?

Kinja'd!!!

Mrs. Kim drove a Jeep Wagoneer...

Kinja'd!!!

I seem to recall Kirk had an interesting if worn-out malaise(?) car, but this is the only picture of it I could find:

Kinja'd!!!

Though he did also have this... thing.

Kinja'd!!!

And, last but not least, Lorelei’s beloved 1999 Jeep Wrangler which she refuses to get rid of despite its ongoing mechanical maladies:

I’ve never watched the show, but by your pictures Richard was played by Edward Herrmann who was a well known car guy who owned a Packard.

Luke’s truck is the truck of my dreams. I built an RC truck recently and used the closest body and paint color I could find.

It’s a funny and witty show that’s basically about a single mom and her daughter who somehow never learn the importance of honesty in a relationship...

But really, though, it is a good show. I recommend you give it a watch sometime.

It is definitely a nice truck.

Don’t forget in the pilot, she actually had a YJ.

Herrmann was one of several highlights in the show. Seems like there was an interesting backstory on how he got involved.

Yep, and those were also the early days when Sookie was super clumsy... It was a bit different in the beginning.

My wife loooves this series, so I’ve accidentally seen them all several times. Definitely good cars, and Luke is relatable. In one scene in a junkyard at night (involving that Valiant, if I recall) , you can see the Dude’s Torino from The Big Lebowski! It must still be kicking around in some Hollywood backlot.

Packard is a 29-30 (they are quite similar), Ford is a 46-48 (ditto from that angle).

One of the most amusing moments while watching the show was when it first aired. It was not long after the Jag S-Type came out, and my uncle was one of the first people on his block to buy one in SF. When he moved to Orange County, he quickly realized it was a rich old lady’s car.

The next season, what is Emily driving? An S-Type.

I remember that episode... The one where Emily got arrested! It had Christopher’s Mustang, too.

She also had a BRG S-Type after this. You see her driving it when dropping Rory off at community service.

Supposedly, the same Torino was used in a season 6 episode of the X-Files, and also in Blue Streak. So that means it was in a pretty heavy film rotation in the 1998-2001 timeframe, but who knows if it was saved beyond that.

You missed my most recent one ive noticed! My girlfriend watched the show for the first time at the start of all this pandemic nonsense. right before richard and emily make up she goes to a party and he crashes into her E55 AMG with his S class lol. I immediately took a video to send to my friend with an E55.

Also at the party they throw to find Rory a better boyfriend theres a group of them chatting about SLs and what exhaust he should get and someone mentions Brabus lol. Great show

I remembered that crash and the Mercedes, but couldn’t find a picture of it... Emily and Richard had a ton of different cars over the course of the series. I love the show, although the ending was a bit disappointing...

I recommend it... It’s become a family favorite. And with quarantine and all, there’s plenty of time to watch it...

I never watched the show, but are Richard and Emily evil? A black XJR is usually a cue that the character is nefarious.

Not exactly... You see, Emily and Richard are Lorelei’s (one of the main character’s) parents. They come from high society, but Lorelei was a bit of a rebellious child, got pregnant at age 16, and ran away to a small town called Star’s Hollow to raise her daughter, Rory (the other main character of the show). After this, there was a bit of a rift between Lorelei and her parents, and their often tumultuous relationship is a major part of the show.

Pretty close though - “ rich and often in conflict with our her oi ne” is a good approximation to the stereotype . Good to see the trope contin ues to hold :-)
