During the past three hours, we’ve pulled down 1.2 million points per hour. That is a team best to date.

And Team Ttyymmnn cracked the 6 million mark! We’re coming for you, Rusty! Interestingly, we seem to be racking up points faster since we dropped the CPU slot and are folding exclusively with he GPU. Boys are not noticing any issues with video games while the GPU folds at max.

According to THIS we are number 151 in weekly points gained , so I’d imagine that’s where we will plateau e ventually.

Looking at the stats and barring no further power outages, I think I’ll finally hit an Oppoflop in about a week and a half. :/

The cool weather held over the weekend so I managed to cross 40 oppoflops yesterday ! I imagine I’ll have to dial it back by half Thursday when the temp rises again.

I hadn’t considered that metric, but I was certain there would be a bunch of teams with more juice than we have.

Just a quick question, how fast are you guys actually getting a work unit done? For me it’s any where between 24-60 hours, so that’s why I’m only at like 8 while using a chromebook on max and it doesn’t even heat up.
I usually start folding when I get home from work, and then log off in the morning so the kids can log on to do school work. And the let it go all weekend.
It’s interesting to how slow it’s going vs what an actual computer may be doing.
But my thing is, it doesn’t really cost me much, doesn’t heat up the chromebook and keeps the kids off of it in the evenings. So why not just keep it slow and steady...

It’s hard for me to say for sure. We’re folding on three PCs at a time, but one of them has a significantly wimpier GPU than the other two. I really only pay attention to points/day, and the two beefier machines are cranking 200k each on just the GPU. As for length of time, that varies by the job. Right now, the wimpier machine is chewing on one job that will take close to two days.

I just joined the group. Happy to contribute some CPU oomph to this project.

Out of curiosity, what CPU and what’s the PPD range that you typically see? My old i7 made a lot of heat but very little production, ~30k points over a full day if I was lucky, usually a good chunk less at around ~25k points.

Just lift where you stand. As for the pace of work units, I haven’t a clue. The guy to ask is jminer.

I was skeptical at first, but with the help of another oppo I got going.
To me: it isn’t hurting anything. I even folded in the county with no internet for a day until the WU was completed. Drove to the dollar general because we forgot bath towels, and WiFi tethered my work phone and uploaded/ downloaded next WU.

It all depends on how much horsepower you’re throwing at it. My big GPU gets through WUs worth 250k-300k in 2-2.5hr. My weakest does WUs in the 60k range in 4-5hr. Weakest CPU is an ancient Mac that gets WUs in the 10k range and it takes it 12hr+. They vary based on what’s available and historically how much work that machine can handle.

It’s a 2012 Mac mini w/ an i7. The Web client says it’ll contribute roughly 9800 points/day.
I have another desktop machine w/ an i7 from 2014/15 that needs some ironing out. Once all the kinks are worked out, I’ll have it folding all the time, too.
