The slushbox might just be the only thing I don't like about it. From the weird alien gauge pod to the spare tire under hood to those remarkably comfortable looking seats to the hydropneumatic suspension, it is just perfect! Lovely shade of red too! 12k might be a bit steep but try finding another in this condition stateside.

It's pretty neat, but it's also one of the few wagons that do nothing for me. I just don't like the shape. The interior is amazing though.

Yeah, that’s been for sale pretty close to me, I’ve been kind of scoping it out on Facebook Marketplace. W on’t buy it though, would not be prudent at this juncture.

This appears to be a period grey market import by CXAuto, who imported a (snallish) number of Citroen CX to the states in the 80s. Interesting piece of history, and the car appears to have been cared for. Not a bad price.

I see it is already “pending” on the dealer’s site.

The headrests, the two-tone armrests, and the engine mounted spare! Are we not  getting shortchanged by the headlights? They seem like a US no-fun version. Didn’t the originals pivot to follow you around the room or something?

Yes, those are US specific headlights (seems like the European spec are still available new of stock or used for not too much ) , the original ones are looking a bit generic but still better :

The “break” (the “French” for station-wagon) has been renamed “Evasion” in 88 aft er the sedan CX has been discontinued in favor of the XM up until its end of production in 91.

One of my uncle had a sedan CX when i was young, i remember that it was comfortable and loved the car raising at start , he replaced it with an XM then a C5 (i think the he still has it).

Corbillard is the translation for hearse.

Heuliez was a coachbuilder/ bus maker t hat has closed its doors in 2013 and would have been 100 years old this year, they did make special versions of the CX .

There are also several ambulance versions :

(the 6 wheelers were from Tissier and not Heuliez)
