Whatever else you can say about the dude, he doesn’t go gentle into that good night, but burns and raves at close of day. Dylan Thomas would have loved him.

Do you think this is because Tesla can’t survive for long without cash flow?
Wait, would it be a good idea for us to just give Elon Musk all of our money, so he can use it more productively than we will?

Yes. Some of the cult guys that paid $7000 for Full Self Drive years ago said it was a contribution to make the world better...
OTOH some said they were defrauded.
Eye of the beholder I guess

I got my haircut on Saturday. My barber is a friend, had one client at a time, and provided masks. CaviCide’d everything in between clients. I waited in the parking lot for him to text me that he was ready.
I understand that situation is much different than a factory, but come the fuck on, people. How are you going to say factories in the state can start to open, then have an indefinite lock down in certain counties? We’ve had two fucking months to start planning a return. No one in their right mind actually thought Americans would be ok with locking down indefinitely, right? Indefinitely? That’s absolutely insane. That was never going to happen.
My sister’s antibody test came back negative, which really surprised me. No one on her team tested positive, despite working in a covid unit with relatively poor PPE for a few months. Makes me wonder if the tests even work. She’s not political, and normally works in a cardiology unit. She’s starting to become very skeptical about this whole thing.

Who’s Dylan Thomas? Is he that guy on Beverly Hills 90210?

I remember that article on the front page - it was literally a guy asking Jalopnik if he should just give Musk all his money. A billionaire, who has probably spent as much or more on a bottle of wine for dinner than my net worth. Yeah, dude, whatever you can scrape together would certainly make the material difference in getting a man to Mars.

When the GOVERNOR of all people says the plants can reopen, the plant can reopen.
Also, Tesla has a point about Shanghai. They actually have experience reopening plants safely.

Tesla needs to divorce itself from Musk. He served his purpose, but they need to move on without him. He’s lost it.

Problem with that is his cult will follow him wherever he goes instead of sticking with Tesla.

If Tesla is going to survive, it needs more than the support of the Elon Muskateers. They need to not be in headlines for stupid crap every week, and Elon can’t seem to stop himself from saying stupid crap every week.

If you are going to do dumb shit then you might as well make it spectacular...
What’s amusing is that manufacturing businesses never closed in Australia. All they had to do was properly manage and provide for workers safety in accordance with State law...

Most factories are wide open, people don’t need to be anywhere near each other for a good part of the day. Aisles big enough to drive a truck
down, literally.
Split up breaks and lunches, cancel bigger meetings, put in a few physical barriers in one of the few areas that aren’t already set up for physical distancing and you’re good. We shut down for two days when the governor shut the state down, but that didn’t last long. Not sure if the governor revised his list, or our corporate lawyers just pigeonholed us into an exempted category
or what, but we were never really hassled about it when we started back up. We even had a confirmed positive test
at the beginning
of April, but that was it, out of the 400 or so people that work here.

Heh. Yeah. There was also a feature awhile back on the tracking of Musk's personal Gulfstream... trips to NYC for dinner. He actually commuted Via jet from Van Nuys to Hawthorne a few times... bad traffic on the 405!

To be fair, we would all do that if we could. Heck, I had a college professor who was a retired International Paper executive, and he commuted from Pennsylvania to Tennessee on the corporate jet in the ‘70s , because his wife refused to relocate.
