From B5 (1st gen) A4. Looks like brown cloth or alcantara but I can’t find anything that matches this on the internet.
It’s cloth version of Terra Cotta

I don’t know the answer but its a pre-facelift B5 , the B4 being the last Audi 80 looking like that :

That might explain why my search hasn’t gone so well....

Audi still has leather in that color available as an option, but I don’t know about the seats either.

Its like black on brown with ripply peach colored seats. Strange.

Yup, all I was able to find was leather. Apparently named Terracotta.

brown leather >>> brown cloth

My butt thinks otherwise when it’s very cold or very warm.

Good point.

Heated seats with drilled leather (cooling) are pretty nice.

It’s called Terra Brown. Apparently only available in ‘98: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/650663-rare-interor

Not sure if it’s that as I only managed to find leather with that name. But I did find out that Audi had Terra Cotta cloth option as well. Not sure if Terra Brown and Terra Cotta are two different options or if they just changed names at some point.

By the sounds of that thread, Audi made all colors available in both leather and cloth under the same name. I doubt you could get any cloth interior on a 98 A4 in the US.
In any case, looks like you found your answer?

And i forgot to mention that Passat B5 (basically the brother of the A4 B5) and the A6 C5 front seats are compatible on the A4 B5 but having the extremely rare brown lower console (which are A4 specific parts) means that the seats a re probably not from another car.
M y A3 have various non-mat ching (but still doesnt looks bad) interiors parts from at least 6 different cars and my A4 is a B7 with a leather interior and door cards from a B6 (visually almost the same but unfortunately airbag connectors and rear center buckle position are not the same, leading to unfortunate issues ).

Yup, thanks to you and everyone who participated.

Brown leather>Black Leather for sure.

In most cases.

Probably not on a car with pink paint.

Brings up yet another personal mystery.
It seemed like the B5’s also had oil press. or ammeter and oil temp. gauges (why, oh why, VAG, did you lose these on the next gen.?) in the instrument pod . All this talk of facelifts is news, though. Were these a post-facelift thing?

Pre-facelift (analog clock, all is red ) A4 B5 :
Facelift A4 B5 :
—
The ampermeter and oil temp got “lost” on the B6/B7 (which are almost identical, like a Golf 5 and 6 ), i got an identical cluster on my B7 :
—
The A3 8L (i also got one) cluster is almost identical to the A4 B5 but tighter without the oil temp and ampermeter (also having the same analog/digital clock and red/white differences).
Mine is identical (without optional FIS, for gasoline engine with a manual ) :

That steering wheel aged well for a four-spoke. Still looks great.
