I’ll admit, DOTS was a poor excuse to bombard you guys with dog and hiking photos, but here I am.
Well, I saw a nice Triumph TR6, which was nice.
And this beautiful period correct fastback Mustang in a delicious shade of yellow.
And a Bentley going really really really slow, making my inability to photograph it even more humiliating.
I saw some stuff yesterday too.
Oh, and I finally got a good picture of this Corolla. Great creamy tan color there.
A Malaisey personal luxury coupe something-or-other. I feel like I should know this.
EDIT: Thank you to MM54 for pointing out that as a ‘69 Chevy Impala, which means it is not at all Malaise.
Impressive.
And now to unsolicited hiking and dog photos.
First, I took an up close look at the ruins of the abandoned Glover-Wilder Tannery. Only this one structure remains after the three building complex was burned by Union troops during the Civil War.
Oakton, the oldest house left in the area, is for sale. Unfortunately the land it is on is so valuable that no one can afford it. Unfortunately the massive front yard is going to be parceled off so that the manor house can survive. Sad, really.
Internet photo because you can barely see it from the street.
And now finally, some doggo!
Today I walked around the Camp Brumby area of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park to avoid the crowds. It was nice and quiet in the loop around the area where the CCC (Civilan Conservation Corps) once camped. During the Great Depression, the CCC built the network of trails and roads on the site, installing numerous monuments and plaques to commemorate certain areas, stimulating the local economy along the way.
Just a few neglected concrete foundations in a big field left today.
Hey look, Turk, a forge!
Wait, wait! Hold up!
“Turkey” didn’t miss a beat on this long walk, but I barely made it home. I am really tired. How tired? Well, this photo about sums it up.
How ya been?

I wouldn’t call a ~
‘69 Impala ‘Malaisey’ but it’s not a super common sight.

Sorry, I'll correct. I considered whether it was malaise but that looked more early 70s than late 60s to me. Huh. Not exactly common as you stated.

C ool 67/68 fastback - must be somebody’s baby to respray in that hot yellow. And that Bentley, maybe even a speed? I really like “historical” hikes - all the benefits of normal hikes plus gives my brain something to do along the way too.

Yes, the fastback looked factory and not resto mod. Sweet!
I like history and I like hiking and I live near a Civil War battlefield. Great combination, but most of the better spots are pretty crowded right now.
