Pretty neat! I’ve always wanted to learn, but didn’t know where to get help on the matter. CCC put out a video not to o long ago that mentioned to just try downshifting and matching revs when coasting to a stop without thinking about the brake pedal; I’ve been doing this for a few weeks and just adding a random blip on the throttle when I actually do get to braking without chang ing any gears . But today, I did the real thing! I’ve still got a lot more practicing to do, but look out world!

Super fun little trick, that only you get satisfaction out of.

I was so proud of myself when I learned how to shift from 1-5-1 without clutching.

I’ve never heel-toed but I’ve put my foot in my mouth a few times.

It can be really rewarding. I’m a very liberal blipper. I tend to heel pretty hard. But it’s better than nothing I suppose.

right - I find it easier to catch it on the way back down rather than trying actually match revs even if not heeling...

Achievement unlocked!

I’d like to point out that some of us learned how to drive on a manual car and a lot of the  cars from the 60’s and 70’s required rev matching on down shifts so it’s kind of ingrained into my driving habits.

What they told us at Skippy B, too much gas isn’t a problem,

I sometimes find that driving heals the soul but I still  use the heel of my foot  to do it.

My current M2 auto-rev matches, but my old Genesis didn’t. I would just feel it out with the clutch in the Genesis before/ after I had made the turn, which I don’t think is what I was supposed to do.

I’ve been slowly getting better at it in the E34, but my new Midget has been a revelation. I think it’s how the pedals are setup but this thing is glorious to rip heel toes in and it’s just super natural and easy.

The E34 my technique really ends up being more right side of foot throttle and left side brake rather than heel and toe because the pedals are spaced in a way that I have to bend my ankle such an awkward way. But the MG I feel like a race car driver now lol
