Is that a tow hook?  Odd.

Track day, bro?

Looks more like the tie down for when it is on a car hauler. My Mazda has them along with bad plastic covers. But I don't know why you would leave it like it is here.

The few Spyders I’ve seen actually have been at the track. They perform relatively well. Think GT4 without a roof. Wish I could find an affordable one.

Sweet! A spyder. I like the speedster look and tha’ ts probably the only P-car I’d take over a GT4.

Spyder > Speedster

(in the design department, anyway)

Hmmm. I always saw the two  words as synonymous

I concur. The 911 speedster looks a bit silly. I more so meant that I thought the Spyder was a speedster style essentially. Not Porsche speedster necessarily but a general style. Like a shooting brake is a general style for example.

Yeah, I gotcha.

Here’s a speedster with style:

The OG Porsche Speedster were lightweights and had chopped windshields. Is Spyder/Spider anything more than a fancy name for a convertible...?

Ha. I had never given it that much thought. I’ ve only recently become interested in convertibles in general since my wife has expressed interest in them lately.

Strike while the iron is hot!

I’m far too sunburn-prone to have a convertible, but there are a few that might get me to own one, regardless (the above pictured Spyder, S2000, ND Miata...).

The only problem is that I want a sort of “ back to basics” convertible like the ND miata or the s2000. She primarily cares if it looks good and she thinks that the C7 convertible looks really nice. I’m not sure I want to do another corvette and I don’t like how simultaneously big and isolated the C7 feels. Dash is tall, windshield short, and the view out the front just wasn't nearly as nice as my C5Z.

But at least I’ve got her a little interested so far.

Get her to take a test drive in the Miata and maybe she’ll change her mind.
