My bike ride yesterday ended up being being 18.5 miles in total with 3000 feet of elevation gain. I am also thankful to have made it a little bit easier by walking the first part. I have drawn a red line on the elevation map to show where I really started. So that shaved a nice 1200 feet and 2 miles off of the climb on a bicycle. Well worth it though since it was a great adventure!

Digging how much riding and hiking you are doing. Sounds like you are having fun and taking time to recover before going back out.

While I’m young enough to keep going nonstop every day, its certainly more relaxing and probably better for me anyways to get some rest. Will prepare me for being old some day when that resting takes a week or a month lol. And yeah its not like there is a whole lot else to do since I cant go to the track and I cant travel.

Cumulative fatigue you don’t associate with actions now is massive. It wouldn ’t be the +90 F heat, it would be too much too soon and too hard finally catching up to you.

Hard days should almost always be followed by a short easy ride with a few efforts just barely hard enough to reach as deep into your muscles as they hurt and flush them out, after you’re fully warmed up. Little else applies almost universally, but this is pretty broadly agreed on.

Yup, definitely always feels great to do that too. I got out today for a short ride and then a hike. I actually forgot my phone so I didn't get any pictures. But it was a nice easy day and absolutely beautiful up there. Definitely going back for it again.
