These are two separate cars owned by two separate individuals, yet for all intensive purposes they are exactly identical.

What am I on about? Why, the minute differences between this 2007 Ford Escape in blue with the 5 speed and 161,000 miles for sale for $3750. . .

See what I mean? It’s like these owners are twins. Even down to the wear on the interior.

Here’s the 2007

And here’s the 2006

Kinja'd!!!

I’m a bit worried the parking brake isn’t on

Apart from the presence of a water bottle, they are identical in ever appreciable way. Even the driving position! Someone tell someone about their long lost brother separated at birth!

I only noticed because they post their ads new every day within a few hours of each other. The location indicates they live 30 minutes away from each other so they can’t be the same person. Tell me I’m not crazy.

UPDATE: Just Jeepin’ pointed out that the odometer readings are the same between both ads. So they are the same car after all.

I’m just mystified as to why two entirely separate ads were created. Seriously, this took a lot of effort to photograph each car as to make them look different, down to moving the seats to different positions and pretending they are different years and different prices. I can only assume the two phone numbers were cell and work numbers. But then again, neither of those numbers corresponds to the number on the dealer temp plate. Just what on earth is going on?

They're probably the same person. Posting one ad with their location where they live, and the other where they work.

Er, $300?

But they are at slightly different prices and years and every photo is different. Also, the 2006 has slightly more faded door handles. They have to be different, but the odds of them existing in the as place are just crazy low, much less both having their ad renewed every day or so.

$300 doesn’t seem like a good premium for 1000 less miles and one year newer . I’d take the 2006.

Both cars appear to have the same rear license plate frame.

They’re off by one mile in the odometer pics. I think they’re the same.

I hadn’t noticed that. Hmmm. The two ads have different phone numbers to call, neither of which match the number on the plate placeholder thing that dealers do. They also have wildly different descriptions.

I suppose this could technically be a dealer disguising one car as two private sellers, but why bother? And I don’t believe it could be this well executed.

Wait, look at these two key rings. Are they the same?

I feel kinda stupid because I didn’t check that. Ok, so these are actually the same car. That still doesn’t answer the question of who would go through the effort of making two entirely separate ads and listing two separate phone numbers (work and home?) just to sell a car.

Between the odometer and the license plate and the same fleet(ish) tag on the keys , this looks to me like someone with two different car lots, or maybe a scam. Very weird no matter what.

(After all, who drives a car one mile to take a fresh set of photos?)

At a location one mile away. He even moved the seat to a different position! And planted a water bottle in the cup holder! Just so so so weird!

People do weird things. The guy I bought my latest scooter from had two different ads, with different pictures and different prices. I’ve seen it many times actually. Why? I have no freaking clue! People be weird!

Hmmm I never recall anyone actually going through the trouble of making two ads with painstaking attention to detail, like changing the seating position. That is very strange.
