Oof. First Trump’s personal valet, now Pence’s press secretary. It’s getting close to the top.

And frankly it’s probably going to get closer if we are just going to reopen without a plan to control the virus’ spread. The White H ouse is doing heavy testing of their own people, but we’ll see if that’s enough to protect the people at the top.

It already sort of did, Prince Charles and Boris Johnson already had it, so that’s one head of government, and one head of state in waiting.

Testing alone isn’t protecting them. They need to stay home and wear a mask when they go out.

Must be nice to be daily tested along with everyone your in contact with.

Yes, I’m showing my Americentrism--close to the top of the US government. If anything happens to Trump, just imagine what the conspiracy theorists will do with it.

And he faked helping carry boxes, getting caught on tape asking to stage it with empty boxes.

Well, he is the president. They may well have caught Boris Johnson’s illness early because of an abundance of testing. But they don’t have enough tests for each member of Congress, so....

I mean if they can make sure that Trump/Pence don’t come into contact with anyone who is positive, then they can pretend like everything is normal. Honestly though, I don’t trust them have the discipline to pull that off , you can only tell people “the virus is no big deal” so many times before you internalize yourself.

Trump’s biggest problem is that he thinks out loud.

He doesn’t think very well, or at all, so speaking won’t help.

Well it looks like he apologized , that’s more than drumpf ever does when he says things that don’t turn out to be true. Of course drumpf does it on purpose or is so deranged he isn’t aware.

He may well have been carrying full boxes, but honestly it’s not at all clear to me how “joking about carrying empty boxes” precludes actually carrying empty boxes. It seems like everything in the (unedited) video would have played out the same whether the boxes were empty or full. Clearly a sign of the lack of trust (as well as disdain for stupid photo ops from both parties)

I was surprised by how quickly Charles bounced back from it, the guy’s 71 and it seemed to barely affect him. Johnson had to spend a few days in ICU, though he apparently didn’t require a ventilator.
Speaking of conspiracy nuts , the security director at the bank I used to work at was an interesting one. He wanted to spout off to me once about there being a secret cancer vaccine that only the elites could get, because when was the last time a member of Congress died of cancer? I responded with John McCain, and he just kind of grumbled that it was already public knowledge that he had a cancer scare before, so they had to let him die to keep up the cover.

I didn’t try, I just let him talk and had one of my staff call and tell me an appointment was waiting in the lobby if he spent too much time in my office.
He also carried a concealed handgun, even though firearms were banned on bank property, because his main office was at the call center, and he was convinced that the place was an overheated, stressed tinder box and that someone there was going to snap one day and shoot the place up. I think his boss knew about it, too, but I did tell him repeatedly that a major, fireable violation is not something he should loudly broadcast to every employee, and that doing that defeats the purpose of concealed carry, anyway.

Just like the armed covidiots in MI and elsewhere. Their risk level is probably relatively low, while all the people who will have to return to work so they can go shopping will face higher risks. But they don’t care about them.

yes they do care about them. they care about those people getting back to work to serve them. the most important thing is that they get to go golfing, or to the salon, or get back to stuffing their fat stupid faces again.

Also note that as the article mentions, she’s not just Pence’s press secretary, she’s the wife of close Trump advisor, bigoted goblin, and strong candidate for worst human being in the administration, Stephen Miller.

I’ve seen the test, at least the one to check if you have an active infection. They shove a long swab up your nose into your sinus cavity. Not sure I’d consider having to do that every day to be “ nice.”

Like these fine individuals that only care about the health and well-being of others?
One of the few posts I’ve seen on Facebook about reopening that I’ve agreed with was we should start reopening with a mandatory nationwide season of Undercover Boss. Any company where the CEO isn’t willing to spend a few days working with different employees that will directly face risks to exposure isn’t allowed to reopen yet.
