Here’s another call for taking safely socially distanced pictures: post your fleet , whether you’re in self-imposed quarantine or you’re more active. It’s like a car show that exists only in your own driveway/garage/parking lot/street.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I’m fairly certain this is the longest (uh, 6 days) I’ve gone in my entire life (including infancy, knowing my parents) without going farther from home than walking the dog around the neighborhood, and it’s definitely the longest (2 months) in 10 years I’ve gone without traveling at least out of state. I’m not complaining, as I’m grateful to be able to work from home for the time being and to have a comfortable and safe place to do it, but I’m not good at not going places! So I took pictures of my cars just sitting. I’m not usually one to anthropomorphize, but they seemed a little sad just sitting there all ready with nowhere to go. I’m going to go for a nice socially distant drive this weekend...state parks have reopened so maybe I’ll take the dog for a hike.

Nice. Appropriately socially distant photos, too.

I’m basically driving only the Sportwagen as it is the only one insured for “ to and from work” use right now. I take the ST out most nights for a cruise but the Forte and truck don’t really move.

Thanks. I mean, the photos were taken in 2017 and 2016.

Yes, I assumed you didn’t somehow go out and take a sunset photo and then a nighttime photo of two different cars on two different roads within 10 minutes of a post in the middle of the day. Nice shots though!

I’m “essential” too--the wheels of justice are still turning, albeit even more slowly than usual-- but can mostly work from home for the moment, fortunately/unfortunately.

First we have the POS Camaro in all of it’s glory, including patches for the floor sitting on the hood. A previous owner tore up the trans tunnel when he put the floor shifter in and I want to get that fixed before I put the console and stock horseshoe shifter in it.

Kinja'd!!!

Next is the absolutely filthy DD. A 2017 X5 35i. Nothing special there, just a comfortable daily driver for back when I drove on a daily basis.

I wish I didn’t have to commute 100 miles round trip, but a job is a job. Plus my boss/the owner has been super nice during all this craziness

That’s good to hear...it’s heartening to hear of the businesses doing right by their employees. My employer has been too, despite a lot of aggressive cuts by others in the industry.

Most of my fleet is here, at home base.

The Fiero is still in storage, but hopefully next week she’ll get a new fuel tank put in and I’ll be up to five running vehicles!

I work from home normally, so not much has changed for me other than  less travel.

I’ve been driving a couple times a day on a circuitous route that puts my truck about 200 linear feet from the house, but a good 75 vertical feet down, picking up logs from our land for firewood.

Kinja'd!!!

and uhh. I put the boat in, so we’ve been using that a lot. Cheap gas is good when your boat drinks fuel like a dirty frat boy

Because the mini .. uhh, not pictured because it’s 50 miles away with my wife, has terrible old run flats that work fine on dry roads, but our shop has been closed, so we haven’t put new summers on it yet.

50% fun unusual colors is pretty good coverage. Dark gray isn’t the most common grayscale shade either.

But for the life of me I can’t get the colors to show up under the mountains of pollen.

Something about quarantine has made more more tolerant/into camaros, especially old ones. Not sure what that’s about.

I’m only charging it like once a week, at most. I will never love it like I loved the RX-7, 914, and MR2, and it’s nowhere near as boss as the E60s , but I’ve never been happier with a car.

I wouldn’t say mothballed as we still take each one for a drive every week or two to give them ‘exercise’....mine had it’s first big run out in 1.5 months to get a HUGE load of groceries in the largest nearby town today (the middle car in the pic). We had bought a stockpile of groceries back when the shit hit the fan and were living off of that until now. :)

Left 2010 Hyundai Accent sedan (known as HoHum) is mom’s car. Middle ‘09 Accent hatch (my beloved ‘Humdrum’) is my car, red ‘09 Accent sedan (known as Red Shift) is my brother’s car. :P

I had the first one and we all liked it so much (and all the reviews I had read said they were very basic, but incredibly reliable and trouble-free cars) that mom and bro (bro was looking for his first car, mom was looking to replace her getting-very-rust 2000 Civic sedan ) both got one too! :)
