Because it was built up by an old guy who knows his stuff instead of some image conscious such and such. Of course this is only on the market so he can open his boutique brand to pay for the hobby. 2:1, I’m still looking at the bike.

Technically two of them, but I’d have a new frame made out of carbon (w/centerstand) for the one that’s for sale. Just to remove doubts after he learned a few things using the aluminum one hard. Otherwise his first effort is the one I’d have of the two.

Bet you could sell it back to him at a profit in another 15 years!

Short seats without a fender that extends from the single seat always look really odd to me for whatever reason.

I don’t think this would look as odd loaded for desert use where you carry any water you plan on drinking or cooking with + survival rations.

It does have a poorly bobbed look to it otherwise.  Claimed at or around 100 lb reduction is important consideration.  Fully gassed with rider aboard it probably handles quite good.

They look like one of those funny dog breeds with shorter hind legs

This is nowhere near as bad as the recently posted Scooby Doo Monster van with 3' of frame and a little basket on it sticking out

That is... a lot of bob. Looks like when people try to “cafe racer” modern sportbikes.

Why is the rear wheel so much smaller than the front...? That just looks really off to me...

So front floats and rear compresses sandy soil. It helps to picture this fully loaded up for a desert trip where you go in heavy and lose a lot of liquid weight.  Obviously will handle much differently on either end but needs to be durable and usable throughout.

Constant diet of faux offroad vehicles is tainting impressions of what this was purpose built to do.  No leather straps or quaint bespoken homages to the storied past here.

But it will probably be a rock from that bare rear tire that gets you.

nose bleed seat height looks to me like, 36 inseam minimum?

R series are not tall guy bikes like K series BMW. Custom suspension might  be sagging on that lift.  Good eye.

it is sitting on a lift but still, frustrating for a guy like me being 5-7 with about 29 in inseam on a good day

Doubt you take much comfort knowing how easily you can climb right into any sports car, roll cage or not. Would you have considered bidding on this if it had a better chance of fitting you?
