Oh man, I’ve heard stories of techs working on collections and radar aircraft with the radomes on the top open and the extinguishing foam went off due to heat from the desert and a glint off of metal into the sensor, its the stuff of nightmares.

If that picture is what would happen to my car if it caught on fire, I’m not sure I wouldn’t want to just let it burn.

I ended up using a small ( 2.5lb, maybe?) BC extinguisher I sourced from Lowe’s. The deciding factor was compact size and mount with a positive retension strap going around the bottle inaddition to locking into the mount at the neck of the bottle.

I’d want a better mount than comes with the one you posted for car use. I’m not a fan of projectiles in the cockpit in the event of suddenly declaration.

The above link is what I had in the F-150 and moved into the Pajero. Plastic mount, but very sturdy. The extinguisher isn’t leaving that mount unintentionally.

I had a 5lb extinguisher using a metal mount like the one above in the racecar.  If you can find something you like that fits that style of metal mount, that would also be a good way to go.

Honestly I thought he was too. I was thinking rusty ventures which is combining you and dusty ventures for some reason. It’s the end of the work day, I’m spent

Thanks, deciding between bracketeer and kap mount.  I'll check out home Depot and Lowe's to figure out which one I'll get.
