Saab 900's will slide nicely if you load up the nose with the E-brake (works on the front wheels) to lighten the rear while in a corner. They also Scandinavian flick well, which is not surprising.

W iki says:
“ S ome car models of Citroen, Alfasud, Saab and early Subarus apply the parking brake force to the front wheels.”

Seems safe.
Joking aside, if you don’t lock them up, it’s actually not a ter rible idea. Unfortunately, if it is an emergency situation, I wouldn’t trust most people not to just yank up.....

With Ci tro ëns this applies to the ones that had hydraulic suspension. The front emergency brake was seen as a good choice if the hydraulic system decided to fail. Despite this some of them still retained regular brake system that would n’t fail together with the hydraulic main system .

A bit funky, these. Backwards engine on top of the transmission, key in the middle, front E-brake. Endearingly weird and incredibly durable.

Well, not all 900s. At some point in the C900 generation, the parking brake was moved from the front t o the rear wheels. Case in point: my brother’s 1991. So the cutoff year must have been sometime before that model year.
