May is lovebug season here in Florida. The swarms number in the millions and seem to be never ending. The season only lasts about 3 weeks but during that time they get everywhere. Every couple days you have to sweep hundreds of dead carcasses off your patios and porches. They don’t bite or sting but they land on whatever is nearby so you are constantly brushing them off.

Not sure how easy it is to see, but every white dot is a dead bug. There’s probably around 50 squashed bugs.

Driving becomes annoying during this time. This picture is a 16 mile round trip to the super market. I had just washed and waxed the car before this. I’m basically washing the front end of the cars every time we use them. Luckily we’re only leaving the house 2 or 3 times a week.

We have the same thing here in Louisiana. They’re bad, but the worst for me was having to drive through the coastal marshes in Texas. The mosquitoe s I squa shed would leave a thick grey goo on my helmet every morning. I was thankful that my motorcycle had a full fairing.

Usually I don’t see much use for car bras, but in this case, I could see picking one up for the heavy season.

Oh man, years ago I drove from Beaumont TX  to Lufkin during lovebug season. I was glad it was a rental.

I can't even imagine being on a motorcycle. I would just avoid riding in May.

T hat’s too much! But I guess that's how ours would look if I didn't wash them everytime.

At least you didn’t drive through something like this, too!

What exactly is that? Just muddy water and pollen? I mean mud and pollen is never a good mix, but I’ll take it over salt or bugs.

Kinja'd!!!

Have you noticed this strange second wave of the green stuff lately?

It’s probably why I’m starting to feel like I’m coming down with something. :/

It’s also gotten warm and humid some days.
