Probably the most excited I’ve been about a car in a while (years) . I didn’t think these were street legal (caged/striped and no VIN) but maybe he created a vin under our whacky regulations.
I want it sooooooo bad

You’re just bragging that you get the Micra up there and we don’t get it here :p
No really though, Nissan needs to sell it in the
US

Woah, how is that possible? ICBC is
so strange.

We live in a strange land

You SURE they had no VIN?
I can’t think he could’ve added one...that would be illegal AFAIK. Unless he took a stock Micra he bought and then did it up as a Micra Cup car? Could be a Micra Cup car that he re-legalized by adding airbags and the like to again?

Positive. But in bc you can get a bc only Vin (see other comments)

No cage, likely just a normal Micra done up to look like a Micra Cup car. Or some kind of support/ promotional vehicle.

Would Transport Canada recognize the BC vin if you move to another province?

I wish they would. Though, at less than 10k for the base model it would cannibalize Versa sales. It’s an example of why I think we need more competition on the low end of the car market. Nissan probably has higher margins on the VerVersbeing thousands more expensive than a Micra) and last I checked it was still the least expensive new vehicle in the US..

Holy shit, basically if you have a vehicle that conforms to the equipment and safety of
the
BCMVA
R, tick some boxes,
s
end some docs and
photos,
pay $25,
and bobs your uncle. Un
real

Unless they chopped up the cage, this looks to be the standard road car. Phone number on the back redirects to Transporters Logistics, which appears to have no affiliation to the series that I can find.

Nissan stopped selling the Note here, opening up a space for the Micra. And the Versa sedan is stupid anyway lol
Keep in mind that the Micra already meets US standards, and it’s cheaper to make one car than it is to make two. The biggest costs to Nissan have already been paid.
And right on about the competition. GM lowered the base price of t
he Spark to about 10k in Canada

Yeah, I am really wondering about this one too!

If the Micra really meets US standards, it i
s a little surprising they make both.. maybe their exec’s watched too much top gear and from Clarkson’s comments infured that anything smaller than a Versa wouldn’t sell here? (as unloved as it is, the Versa does have
a remarkably roomy front seat area..)
![]() 05/05/2020 at 21:42 |

Nope, Nissan US is just jealous that it would steal sales from the Versa, not understanding that it really competes with used cars rather than new cars. So they’re just walking away from sales.

I dunno, I think I've seen cars that fall under this, but I never checked the vins

It should meet US spec, ours is in line with yours
