It’s Tuesday, and I’m still waiting for the future I was promised.

I look at that and see that the designer was clearly thinking about aerodynamics, but it also seems like they had no concern about, o r per haps understanding of, aerodynamic lift. I really wonder how that car handles when it’s going as fast as it looks (assuming it’s more than just a rolling prototype).

Ok concept cars aren’t my thing, and big old cars aren’t my thing either. H owever, GIMME that car with EV power and it has to make “The Jetsons” noise when you press the gas pedal.

The Designer’ s Boss: “I look at that and see that you are clearly thinking about aerodynamics, but it also seems like you have no concern for , or perhaps understanding of, aerodynamic lift.”
The Designer: “Bich IDGAF the shit look F.L.Y!”
The Designer’ s Boss: “Get out”

What’s really frustrating is that a lot of the technology they were pred icting back in the day exists now, and yet designers seem to have lost their imagination in favor of boring, minima list design. In many ways, we have the future we were promised, it just doesn’t look nearly as cool and exciting as we were told it would be. I’ve always wanted to build a custom car in the style of the futuristic concept cars of the 50's and 60's, but jam-packed with modern technology, just so that something from the future we were promised would actually exist.

You got that future we all deserved. It’s just less reliable and more “down market” than we envisioned it in our heads..
