And I’ve done :checks list: jack shit to get the Alfa ready.

The only thing it NEEDS before track day is the rear brake flex hose (yes, there is only one) replaced. I did the fronts back in 2017 before the last track day, but couldn’t find a braided replacement for the rear so I didn’t do it. I have a generic replacement in hand, however.

I should also re-connect the oil-vapor separator as I pulled it out to clean it and then never put it back in.

Oh and I’d love to be able to drain and fill the transmission, but that is more of a dream than something that will actually happen.

Still though, at least I got an Alfa logo on my mask!

Nice mask. Nice hair too. My mop is just flopping around and getting in the way. Not that it ever looked that nice to begin with. Hope you get everything ready for the first (?) post ‘Rona t rack day. Seems like a pretty safe activity overall.

What type of track day?

Are there multiple types? I genuinely do not know. Uhh every year the Alfa club rents the Hallet t Motor Racing track nearby for a Alfa-only day. One group of 5 cars on the track at the time, usually around four groups total. Racing is expressly forbidden so you’re just doing it for fun or lap times. Either or.

I bet it's a race car type track day.

Yeah I almost pulled out but aside from the rented helmet (which is sanitized anyway) and the safety briefing, everything else is outside and you rarely get near others except to chat.

edit: Oh and thanks!  The mop is fairing better than expected with my hair lady still not cutting...

Well there's certainly different levels and also differences between say a club event vs TNIA or similar. Mostly wondering if you have an instructor or how they're handling covid stuff. I've already lost a track day this year with the next track days coming at the end of the month to be canceled.

Gooootcha. Yeah it is a super casual type event. I’ve asked about COVID but not received responses. I figure I’m going to wear a mask, bring sanitizer, and avoid close encounters. Aside from the safety briefing it will be a non-issue anyway as the paddocks are spread out and the grounds are massive.

Traditionally we’ve hired instructors and we have quite a few experts/former/current racing drivers in our ranks. Due to cockiness and COVID probably going to pass even if those are available.

Ha! Not ginger (hair is brown) and the other side isn’t shaved.  Don’t get me wrong... I’ve toyed with the idea.

Tracks are closed in Washington State, I have no idea when they’ll re-open. I’ll be watching closely, I did a lot of work on the Ca yman over the winter..

Yeah I feel like PCA will have events with distancing and masks and maybe just less people. But, I'm still in an instructor mandatory level and since most PCA members and especially instructors are middle age I wonder if they'll just exclude the two instructor levels. That or they'll just say it's at your own discretion and know their waver protects them. If it's the latter, then it's a moral question of if I'm willing to spend a few hours with a stranger in my passenger seat...
