Sorry guys. It’s been a while since life in general got in the way. Here it is:
This is essentially a virtual gallery of all the creative pictures taken by my fellow Opponauts while quarantined at home.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
According to the original post, the goal was, “to rally the community in these trying times by having a showcase for all the members to participate [wherin] each photo must be taken in or around your domicile.”
One quick note. I have unfortunately had to cut a few photos so if you want to check out all of them, head to the comments section of the linked post above. Everyone was encouraged to limit their photos to three in number, but really anything goes if it is in the spirit of the contest. And my goodness did a lot of you guys submit photos. So much so that this is just part one!
Without further ado, I give you the photos! Categorized by author, of course!

Camera obscura in Manhattan apartment
This is an interesting one. “I live in a canyon of Manhattan. To get some light into my loft I have mounted lightweight plastic mirrors to bounce some rays into the cave. One day, the light was so perfect outside it created a camera obscura on my wall.”

What? You’re just gonna spring this on me at the last moment? Why you. . . brilliant photographer! Those are some colorful flames!

“ Tennis- sphere”, “dog at window”, and “Manhattan apartment” are really exceptional. Those are my favorites.

Ha I particularly liked those as well. The camera obscura was especially eye ca tching. I guess you noticed I didn’t type tennis ball.

They’re all great! . The Mixer and the Camera Obscura stand out to me

Lol
Too good not to share.

Thank you, since the mixer was my photo. Taking it was actually what gave me the idea for this in the first place. The camera obscura was just plain cool.

Yeah lol. Tennis-sphere is much more artistic a name.

I also have fire pictures, but they were not at home... and taken this weekend, and not as colorful , but hot AF.
Having a fire is great.

Wow that is hot.

Camera obscura is going to be hard to beat.
Good stuff here tho. The tennis sphere is so simple but great.

What did you use to get the color in your fire? Was it one of those pine cones?
![]() 05/04/2020 at 14:50 |
|
About six inches of copper tube and about 4 inches of old garden hose stuffed inside.
For some reason the newer hose burns more blue than the old dried up pieces I found in my woods.
If you do it the higher in fire the better the color. I think it’s the same basic idea as the pine cones.
Next time I do it, I’m going to make a bunch of them and throw em in all at once.

I like what everyone else has mentioned, but as a huge fan of sherbert, that ice cream one hits me juuuust right.

The camera obscura is very cool, but dog at window might be the winner

I’ve decided to make a late entry with a subpar outtake contrasting oxidation on ski bases.

Ok you get in tomorrow. If I forget before it goes live at 9:00 tell me, since I am on my phone and it is somewhat of a bother on here.

Notice which one I chose as the title image. We are all that dog right now.

Hmmm I might want to sneak in another myself

Oh, you don’t have it include it. Just saw a few other people posted photos in the comments here. If you are trying to adhere to some rigid criteria including submission dates it wasn’t my intent to ask for special treatment.

I was deeply in like with Calzone Golem’s hammer when he first posted it and have to give it the nod here as well.

Haha do you even know Oppo? No real rules here. Just guidelines to be broken.
