Drove the Kia for the first time in a month and a half today. 5 feet forward, then 5.1 feet back into the garage where I lightly tapped my detailing cabinet.

Meh... slight mark, it will wipe off. Christ I really want to get rid of this Kia .

Washed/Waxed the ST and Sportwagen. Hoping to get a quote for the Wagon to be fixed, but we have to pay my wife’s tuition this week ***.

***Practicum tuition! $2K per semester for the privilege to work UNPAID . AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH. Post secondary is a scam.

Pics. How much do people think the dent will cost? I feel $600?

$2k per semester is not bad for a post grad. My friend is getting her master's in social services and it seems it will cost more than she'll make in her first two years of her desired career.

It's just for practicum, no classes. We're luckily done with that, but it was tres expensive

I mean, she thought I'd be furious. But what's the point? She was under a lot of stress and made a mistake because her mind was on other things.

If paint is missing in any quantity, then I think your estimate is probably close.  Try buffing it out to see how much is really gone, and if you can live with just removing the dent and then using touch up.  But that’s in a place that I’d want it looking good. So yeah...

My black A4 has scratches like that on most of its panel (one of the reason i bought it cheap) and using black scratch removal “paste” worked quite well to hide/ble nd the white primer part on most of it (cannot hide the physical scratch nor the bare metal) ; sure wont be perfect but it doesnt cost much to try.

I unfortunately dont have before/after pictures.

Yeah! I like it. It’s my wife’s car, but I seem to drive it most these days as she is purely work from home and I'd rather commute in something with AC

I recon the same, whether it's a new door skin and respray or panel repair and respray. Anything more is daylight robbery.

Sorry but I had a little laugh because you look like a munchkin in the reflection of the busted door. I doubt it will go much under $600 unfortunately. For a quality repair at least and paint match.

EDIT: I hope I'm not offending but your wife just accidentally installed a funhouse mirror where the door should be. Sorry.

Accurate. My wife got her master’s in social work at UT. It took over ten years to make it to a job and pay grade that very, very social workers will. But now she has little job satisfaction which is pretty much why people put up with crap pay.
