Motortrend has a... how to put it... not comprehensive list of cars from the 80's that people don’t recall. I recall a few ALL the time because I own two out of seven of them.

It’s too late. Right now you need to be convincing people to be quiet about late ‘90s and early 2000s cars. There’s a lot of stuff there that’s cheap now but will be collectible soon.

I do think the question of how the DeL orean would be thought of if not for Back to the Future is interesting. Would it still be iconic, or would it be like the SV-1, a sporty looking gull-winged car, with an unusual body material, and built by a character with more ego than ethics? Known by enthusiasts  but not by the average person?

S eems like a problem for a lot of 70's and 80's vehicles. I almost bought a Chrysler Laser too. But it was WAY too beat up to consider.
