Of course today was the first day in two weeks I could have scooted to school, and I had nothing road worthy, except my wife’s Vespa ... Which she will not let me ride.
This afternoon I was determined to get this little Kymco back on the toad, while my Zuma is waiting for parts. I had the new front tire 3/4 of the way on the rim for a few months, before giving up mounting it with tire spoons.
Today I called the local Indian dealer. They said it’s too small for their machine, so they quoted me an hour’s shop labor at $115/hour to put it on with tire spoons. That motivated me to figure it out myself.
It took this crazy contraption of tire spoons, c-clamps, and a big ass prybar , but dagumit I got it!
Took a nice little test ride (of unknown length, because the speedo and odometer are broken), and everything is good!
I’m back on two wheels! They may be tiny and slow, but I don’t care!

You need both scooters so your kids can ride side-by-side like in ChIPs. Didn’t every kid back then pretend they were Ponch and Jon once they got their real bikes with the training wheels off?

Sounds like just the speedo cable in it being broken or disconnected
if both the odo and speedo don’t work?

The face of the speedo/gauge cluster is smashed, so there might be more going on there. I'm only into this thing $150 worth, so I'm not complaining though :)

What really hurt was trying to do it with just the three tire spoons! Once I got some leverage going, it wasn't nearly as bad

Yep! I plan to putput this thing to school at least once, to change over the 3D printer for another set of masks (only one is working right now).

Could always send him a message saying you’re only interested in the gauges and the mirror and see if he would sell just those? Could also try the ‘Make an Offer’ button and make an offer you think is reasonable and see if he would accept...especially if he’s had them sitting around for so long...?
