Fake news
, Elon Musk is the second coming of Jesus.

it just amazes me how his fanboys brag so loudly about what Tesla and SpaceX does as though it’s their own personal accomplishments.

Facts.
I read a FB comment about how amazing Tasla’s interiors AND exterior designs are.
Like they aren’t that great. Have you ever seen a Model X?

People do the same shit with sports teams. “WE are going to the Super Bowl this year.”

that’s a bit different than when an Elon fanboy retorts with “well when have YOU ever started a car company from nothing or landed rockets on a barge?”

LOL! The blatant idolatry is different, I’ll grant you that. Both circumstances confuse me, tho.

It is really hilarious when the tables turn this fast.
Lefties think that Elon Musk is the greatest thing since Charles Darwin or Karl Marx... and can’t possibly be wrong, until he says something they don’t politically agree with, then he’s the most ridiculous thing this side of the white house occupant that they hate with the heat of 1000 burning suns.
take it easy...
It’s just a damn tweet... it might even be a *gasp* JOKE *shock-horror!*

I don't think it was a joke man

We sat in the back seat of a friend’s and the woman next to me took like an inch of skin off her leg on a rough edge on the center console.

The treatment of him as a messianic figure beyond all hint of reproach is what wears on me. Musk is a mortal human being, he puts his trousers on one leg at a time like the rest of us. No problem at all with giving him praise when praise is due, and he certainly deserves a good deal of it, but the idea that he can't be fairly criticized when he deserves it is ridiculous.

one is just camaraderie among people with a shared interest. nobody (and I mean nobody) takes saying “we won” literally, not even the speaker. Elon stans actually get incredibly butt-hurt and take it personally.

He really doesn't have a history that suggests this is a joke

I couldn’t give a @#*$ either way. I think he is an arrogant jerk as a person by most accounts, and an obvious egomaniac as a public figure... but it has garnered some results...
I just think it is hilarious to watch people react to him, and take something as utterly MEANINGLESS in the grand scheme of things, as a 3 word TWEET, to be something worth getting torqued up about.
It’s not like he accused a rescue worker of being a pedophile or anything...

And so what if it isn’t?
States are talking about relaxing restrictions now and upcoming , people have been holed up in their homes, losing their livelihoods, and all sorts of other things for months now... in what was supposedly a free country at some point in the past... all for an epidemic that was never said to be avoidable , but merely slowed...
And someone with a public persona makes a comment that suggests a free country should be freed forthwith... is not taken as sarcasm, irony, satire, or anything else... and vilified over it, amongst many worse criticisms that could be made about that person.
And my point, to LIGHTEN UP, is more proven than it was a few moments ago when I made it.
The over-reaction says more about the people over-reacting than the person being reacted to.... and one could argue that the topic has significant traits of over-reaction already.

Dude, joke or not it’s stupid. It’s a free country that has laws for other people’s protection. That’s why you can’t drive drunk, that’s why you can’t shout “fire” in a movie theater with no fire. Free country doesn’t mean do whatever the fuck you want, especially if doing so endangers other people’s health or even lives. To this so is dumb.
And lighten up? Fuck you. There are mass graves in NYC. How many people do you know who have died?

Now I have an excuse for us to discuss the irony in this photo.

See original post. LIGHTEN UP FRANCIS.
IT IS A !@#$ING TWEET BY SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T KNOW YOU, AND YOU DON’T KNOW THEM. You don’t get to dictate what other people are or are not allowed to say, and that comment was not illegal.
It is not akin to driving drunk, it is not akin to causing a panic in a public place, actually quite the opposite... considering that public places are VACANT now, and his comment was to actually let people start interacting in public again a bit. And regardless of who this person is, there are millions of people who are sequestered that are in a more serious position than just a stay-cation in their houses.
Newsflash, nobody gets out of this life alive.
In continuing news, Covid 19 is now a medical fact of life , and like every other virus , is never going to be eradicated entirely. Social distancing and isolation was never meant to ensure that, it was meant to delay it.
This
cannot be allowed
destroy society and culture, liveli
hoods, economies and everything else for the false concept that it saves lives, because it can’t ensure that death
won’t eventually happen with this infection
anyway. That isn’t what the isolation and social distancing was portrayed to be about anyway... it wasn’t cutting off the virus entirely, which it can’t hope to do
, it was to “flatten the curve”.
There have been epidemics throughout human history, and 60,000 is not as high as flu and pneumonia deaths in the same period in previous years, which have been more than 350,000 annually, let alone anywhere near things like the Spanish flu of 1918.
GET OVER YOURSELF.
BTW, my grandmother died a few weeks ago,
not of Covid 19, but of other aspects of old age. However,
the isolation kept me from being able to
travel
to her funeral or seeing her before she passed
... so don’t visit my intentions. Don’t ever. You don’t know me.

Well, i definitely disagree with a ton of what you have to say, but in the spirit of being excellent to each other here, I’m sorry for your loss. That’s rough. My cousins are in the same boat right now with their other grandmother, this one due to covid. It's not easy.
