I live in the Atlanta suburbs. A lot of stuff is starting to roll again, but it’s weird seeing a lot of people wearing masks. Crowds aren’t as large as you’d expect (as in, many people still aren’t venturing out).

It seems like no one is happy. Check Kemp’s Twitter, everyone is mad he’s opening too soon. Check, say, Tom Wolf’s Twitter, and everyone is mad at him for not opening. Living in a purple state like Georgia or Pennsylvania means you’re gonna have loud, opposing voices regardless.

(Because of how close the 2018 race was and the flipping of large-population house seats from red to blue, Georgia is gonna be close in the 2020 elections).

Yeah. I’m in the “too soon, junior” camp. Texas is starting to reopen things, but cases and deaths keep rising, and we have woefully little testing complete. Ain’t no way I’d feel okay sitting in a restaurant right now. Takeout, sure. Eating in, ehhhh......gonna wait that one out. Hard to keep space from someone delivering my requested bucket of queso. Prolly gonna do my own nails, too, even though I paint like a kindergartner. I guess I can lay down some newspaper? Haha.

I’m genuinely worried for friends who don’t feel safe going into work yet for whatever reason, but aren’t in the categories that get an exemption for that if they’re called back into work. Then they get stuck with “do I go into a workplace that’s unsafe for me, or do I lose my unemployment benefits for ‘turning down work?’” Special place in hell, etc., etc.

After this starts to look significantly better, I will have to have Alanis’ favorite? frosty marg. Austin has this in-joke about the Chili’s at 45th and Lamar for some reason, and I’ve never been. I guess it’s time. Hahahaha.
