Local trails are still open. For now anyway. With the weather getting nicer and everyone getting sick of staying inside it is hard to maintain social distance out here. Hopefully they don’t close because riding is about the only thing keeping me sane right now.
Got my little shredder out to the end of the mesa we live on finally. The Hotrock I bought used has some issues that need sorting. I’m going to order some parts tonight and wrenching on it will give me something to do here since it looks like we’ve got at least 3 more weeks of lockdown in NM.
Bonus doggo for your time. I don’t think he’s moved in about 3 hours.

Neat, what are you going to fix on the Hotrock?
Also in the third to last photo what is the concrete structure with rocks piled on the lid? Trailhead building waste pump acess?

Must be nice to have local trails open. People didn’t take the social distancing thing seriously enough in malibu so we don’t get nice things like that. Unfortunately trails and beaches being closed doesn't mean the people stopped showing up. Instead they just crowd up places that they normally wouldn't. But I've still got plenty of trails in other areas about an hour away where it's real backcountry and decent altitude for socal. I've just resorted to road biking with my mountain bike instead. Plenty of mountains and hills and the scenery is beautiful either way. I am definitely out of place versus other bikers and my tires surely are a hindrance on road. But still fun either way!

Brake cables and levers are shot so that’s first. Gonna redo the drivetrain. It’s a junky Tourney that seems one shift from breaking. Needs a new saddle. Seatpost is a boat anchor so I’ll probably replace that . And the stem needs to be flipped to fit her better. Maybe some misc stuff like new grips and replacing the chain. Eventually it’ll need a new fork but I’m gonna wait a minute on that.
It’s actually just a sewer access. The sewer system for all the houses on the top of the mesa connect there then flow down into the canyon where the waste treatment plant is.
