Dodged somewhat of a bullet. I haven’t registered the T/A since 2016. Luckily, the government has shined down upon me and they haven’t had any issues with me re-registering. Wasn’t quite sure how that worked, time wise.
Wish me luck. My wheels have shipped- hopefully I can repair my body bushing tomorrow, and the bird will be ready for her maiden voyage in about a week or so.

Awesome!!! I just found some more surface rust on the Accent just behind the front driver’s side mud flap....and a bit more on the passenger side front jacking point. Still completely solid, just paint peel and the like...argh. Will have to get that looked at when all this lockdown stuff is over. I hate the Nova Scotian
climate and salty winter roads :(
I’ll go out tomorrow if it dries out (it was raining most of the evening) and spritz it all good with Fluid Film for now I guess!

So do you hate the climate or hate the salt? It seems you have staying on top of the rust which is something not many Accents could say.

Well, the climate isn’t too bad here, all-told....but Nova Scotia is on the Atlantic, so salt air....and salty roads in the winter, so....yeah, means things tend not to last too long here, sadly :(
I try to stay on top of it...but then there are times where I think that financially, and logically...I just shouldn’t bother and save up for my next car. But I do love the Accent and it really isn’t in that bad a shape. The worst of the rust was really just small amounts on the rear wheel wells. Almost everything else has been surface rust, really.

I mean economically it is almost always cheaper to fix a car than to buy a new one and you do seem to like it. I would just keep it for as long as possible and maybe save up for a fun car fund, maybe one of the weird and wonderful imported cars you always talk about. That of course would be difficult when money is tight but it would be something to work towards. What you do kind of depends on how much you want to spend on transportation and whether a second car would be feasible. Go with your heart but mind your wallet.

I already have enough saved to import a 126 (hopefully), I just haven’t done so yet because, where I don’t have my own place yet, I have nowhere to store it (no garage here to keep it out of the weather). :)

Wow that's great! Don't forget a repair fund so you can keep it on the road once you do get your own place. I'm very happy for you.
