Kinja'd!!!

We just got back from the vet. Toby has been locking himself and his skin seems a bit irritated. He actually seemed better than when I made the appointment, but we went anyway. Due to social distancing, they were meeting cars in the parking lot and taking the animals inside without. Their owners. Toby found this unacceptable, and planted his feet to prevent being moved away from me. I walked him in and it seemed OK once he got in the door , and the doctor called my cell phone to report.

He is fine and they did not find anything. He either has an allergy or an unduly protective guardian. They gave me medicated shampoo, and told me to keep an eye on it. On the phone, the doctor said, “I’ve seen him before but he has never been anxious like this.” I explained that he never goes far from my side. When they brought him out to the car, he was very upset and the girl commented on how anxious he was and asked if he was always that way. Again, I explained that he didn’t like the separation. He hunkered down in the Sunchaser and was very upset.

What I didn't tell them is that I am not sure who is more traumatized, him or me.  That bath might have to wait.  We've both had enough for one day.

Glad they don’t think it’s anything serious. Hopefully, he’s just a little freaked about things being different and will adapt (or things will get back to normal).

Poor guy, I want to pet him! At least he seems to be in good health, even if he’s a bit shook up from the separation anxiety. I hope for both your sake that medicated shampoo is the most he needs.

Ultimately though, it must feel kind of nice to be that loved/needed

Went through the same thing 2 weeks ago with my Pepper. She had a minor bacterial infection on the skin of her back. When the vet tech came out to take her from my car, she started whimpering and backed up into the foot well of the back seat. A few weeks before that, she had an ear infection. Same story. She really struggles with allergies in the spring, and this year has been worse than usual.

Thankfully the shot and medicated mousse she got seemed to do the trick.

Get well soon Toby!

I hope Toby is okay. The environment has gone through a lot of change in the last couple of months and atmospheric differences may be playing a part.

I really hope your both okay after the experience at the vets.

Take care both.

Also had a vet visit today. Woke up to a nice mess this morning and he has some sort of bite on his tail that isn’t healing well. Dude keeps bulldozing through doorways and people with the cone on. Still tried to screw with the cat.

I have had to take two of my dogs to the vet while covid 19 has been going on and the were both the same as your visit, wait in the car while they take the dog, except they couldn't move bacon my german shepard so i had to carry him to the door and push him inside.
