If that’s good, I don’t know if I want to see bad.

I don’t want all the small, basic, cheap cars I like to morph into fat mini-crossovers :/

Shoulda told the Toyota CHR that. Literally everything there is to like about small cars is absent there. Sitting in the rear feels like being in a smallish black pleather lined coffin (from experience).

C- H R is almost insultingly cynical. FWD only CVT only butched-up false pretense of AWD CUV with poor visibility aimed at drivers who really shouldn’t have reduced visibility.

Right on. My brother’s girlfriend bought one because she claimed she couldn’t see out of a Corolla, which is. . . um. . . false. And the cargo capacity is about the worst I’ve ever seen from a hatch, s ince there actually isn’t room above the drop down parcel shelf.

The blind spot in that thing is 50 miles wide, and I’ll just come out with it - it is attractive to people who are maybe not drivers with the best situational awareness.  I often give those and other derpy CUVs a wider berth in traffic.

I delivered the Lexus UX version 400+ miles away, and it was an exceptional drive for what it is (drove an IS 200t back) FWD is the thing mostly anymore, and had no problem merging nor easily pushing 90 on the freeway. For those who do not care, a very above average cvt

Don’t forget the pretend aggressive styling.

She’s legit brainwashed. As if somehow being 2 inches lower means you “can’t see”.

She’s telling herself that to justify buying the more ex pensive pseudo-SUV she wants.

She represents the majority of the car buying populace.

I found it very very difficult not to say anything. The CHR has the single worst visibility of any car I've ever been in. Including buses. It was decently far below MSRP if I recall but you don't need to justify it with a falsehood.

Too right.

I’m all about that integrity. If you’re buying it because it’s cooler than a Corolla and you’re getting some sort of discount, that’s okay.

How can you lie to yourself though

Gotta have those leering eyes and unhappy mouth in some weird hopes it will intimidate others.    A car for people who hate cars and hate driving.

I was thinking that hideous mess was the fancypants RAV4. Come to think of it, the NX gives me that vibe too, especially in base form which makes it look like it has an enormous front overhang.

My fintail will do 90 and then some.  No doubt those soft roaders  are very reliable and comfortable cars, for those who don’t care - you nailed it.

I will give the C-HR the fact that the metallic teal paint with white roof does look pretty awesome...

Not a matchbox car. A vehicle capable of thousands of feet of elevation change at over legal speeds. Ive also rolled NXs rural highways with big elevation changes through thunderstorms keeping highway speeds as well. Anyone thinking they are a weekend all weather warrior is mostly delusional anyway

I’d hope any vehicle at that price point, especially these days, would be capable of all that. I am sure the vehicles themselves are fine  refined transportation objects that will rack up 6 figures of mileage without complaint. But damn, the aesthetics, and don’t tell the Stepford behind the wheel that it isn’t a rugged adventurous thing.
