I seriously had to read this three times before I realized they weren’t joking. The tone was just a little too serious, but otherwise this was a LOLfest.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

The issue of knee-jerk shootings of black people is real, this one just seemed like a major stretch to tie the stories together.

With a stretch like that, I hope she didn’t pull any muscles.

How long before this crop of writers is gone for not “sticking to sports”?

remember that old episode of the Simpsons, where in the Simpsons universe there was a buddy cop TV show with a character named “Homer Simpson” who was cool, suave, and a bad-ass? Then after the first episode they rebooted the character into a bumbling, aimless man-child?

Deadspin is that reboot.

“ And that’s the end of that chapter!”

Kinja'd!!!

Love that episode. Then Homer shows up at Moe’s with scarf, price tag still attached.

Tbh, I had the same thought when I read that story at another source. Though, it could be that the homeowner just didn’t have his gun with him at the time, the whole encounter sounded pretty brief.

I wouldnt have any race-related hangups about shooting a white opioid addict who broke into my house.

That’s the first Deadspin article I’ve read since the old writers all quit/got fired.

Also the last one I’ll read.

It’s like if someone described old Deadspin to a technical writer and then said ...ok now you do that.

Yeah didnt think deadspin was allowed these articles anymore. Too bad they canned all the good writers before all the sportsballs all got furloughed

I think this fits the rule. The example given in the infamous ”stick to sports” email was that it was OK to write about Donald Trump getting booed at a baseball game, but not OK to write about Trump in a non-sporting context. So, Tom Brady, football player, getting lost on the way to the home of a coach for his new team for a football-related meeting would probably be permitted.
