I have a decent stash of random old brochures and car magazines here at home and thought I would scan some of them and post them on Oppo for your enjoyment and chuckles over the next few weeks of this wonderful pandemic we’re all stuck in the middle of... :/
In our first installment, Volume 1 - we are taking a look at a 1974 Chevrolet brochure for their line of campers and RVs! Files will be uploaded in convenient PDF format for your ease of download and viewing. Take a read and enjoy! :D

Ooh, this should be good. There are some pretty cool cutaway photographs in there. I had no idea there were so many OEM conversions with so much overlap. Must have been a lot of demand and a lot of profit for that many options to exist. And every single one of them had an automatic transmission I noticed.
Hey Timmy, you’re gonna have to sleep on the floor tonight because its the burro’s turn to get the bed. Oh, and he called shotgun for the ride back.

Poor Timmy....you can tell they love the donkey more :P
Yeah, all automatics...I didn’t notice but guessing all column-shift automatics as well!
Yeah, a lot of automakers did more of their own equipment like this back in the day. Chrysler made marine engines for boats at one point, and that even blossomed into making boats, themselves in the ‘60s and ‘70s!

Perhaps federalization was much cheaper back then and regulations much more lax, which would make them much more profitable than today.
And GMC made that one one motorhome that one time while Chevy got all the love. I would have thought GMC was a better fit for the motorhomes but I guess Chevy had more brand loyalty from suburban households.
a full line of inboard and outboard boat engines, along with powerboats and sailing craft
They made non powered sailboats that didn’t use their engines too apparently.

That last one is still in much better shape than many of the surviving GMCs. RVs tend to get nasty real fast if you don’t watch out.
As a kid I had this enormous and comprehensive book detailing the history of Matchbox, which is about the sum of my knowledge of die cast. Remind me, wasn’t Dinky a separate brand that ended up being bought by one of the big names and kept as it’s own l line
