Microsoft making my PC feel less than ideal

Not too bad though. I do still want to update my video card at some point this summer.

I’m not so sure how meaningful these are though, as some of the the things are a bit weird, for example, in general the RX 570 and RX 590 are way faster than the GTX 770 and 970 respectively, while the i7-9800X is a significantly stronger processor than the Ryzen 2700X. Will be interesting to see if those are just arbitrary figures or if there’s something special about the game that causes certain hardware to shine.

I’ll be curious to see how my machine runs it in current form with my new Ryzen 3900X, 5700XT and 32gb of speedy ram.  I’m looking forward to acrobatics in a 737.

Seems like you are pretty much in the “ ideal” area. The Radeon 5700 XT is generally a little slower than the Radeon VII or GTX 2080, but not a ton, somewhere in the 0-10% range for most benchmarks I’m seeing. It’s certainly way faster than the “recommended” RX 590, which as noted is faster than the “recommended” 970.

Wait till fall/winter for the rtx 3k stuff before deciding on upgrade.... you can find a Craigslist deal from early adopters or someone dumping gear to make rent , or a nice 3k rtx

Well, I have an older Core i7 3770 @ 3.4GHz , Radeon HD7870 2GB and 8GB RAM, sooo....not gonna happen for me :P

Is FS so memory intensive that it needs 32GB? My system has 12GB and I don't think I've ever come close to filling it all...

Apparently? I haven’t seen many games that take advantage of 16GB let alone, 32GB, but they seem to think there’s some benefit. I’d guess it’s pretty easy to be streaming a ton of world data into main memory, though that’s going to have to make it to the video card at some point.

A Ryzen 5 or 7 + RTX seems like good enough for the “best” experience. Good thing they’ve yet to implement VR—only a Zen  Threadfucker can run that.

I dunno, ‘best experience’ would be what they list as ‘Ideal spec’...’recommended’ means it would run fine. I’m going by what they list as ‘M in spec’, meaning ‘minimum’...which I do not have, lol.
