The restaurant-supplies place near us is now selling to the public since their normal market has evaporated. My wife has discovered they have a very good gin selection - it’s flavor of the week in the fashionable bars here, apparently (not that I’d know, I’m not beautiful enough for fashionable bars).
This is turning into an expensive discovery...
Turns out good tonics aren’t cheap either, though fortunately most of these are sipping gins.

I like gin, and gin apparently goes with quarantine well enough that I had to take a break from buying good gin because I kept enjoying all of it and buying more.

Expensive, not yet, but soon.
A restaurant near me has 65 different gins and that is a drop in the ocean.
Yet, only stocks one Irish whiskey, Jameson. FFS.

Even having spent a few weeks in Ireland and indulged myself in whiskey bars, I still didn’t find one I’d choose over a decent scotch or bourbon.

That’s a shame. We must imbibe more.
have you tried the Teeling range? The single grain is my current go to for Irish and Auchentoshan American oak for Scotch (it’s triple distilled and cheap, normally £32, but often goes down to £20. At that price I don’t feel like I’m wasting money if I knock it back).

I’m glad someone can enjoy gin, because it is the one thing I simply can not drink. I don’t know why, but even a small sip of gin just doesn’t work with me. It will be coming back up in short order.

I have a weird dislike of Scotch, but really like W hiskey.
I also like more herbal Gins, but really dislike the “drier” ones.

Been wanting to try that Malfy gin on the left but no local places seem to carry it right now. Thinking it would make for a great Negroni.
