Yes, like all Jeeps driven through salt water at end of assembly process to start corrosion process.....

Something about the old black and white photography is they render the full dynamic range from solid white to full black. Granted, there are probably a dozen lights added in the background to illuminate this photo.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that same, stagnant water was still pooled in there when Renault took over, given the condition of AMC’s factories in general, at the time.
