It’s Hump Day, and no, this is not a Lockheed Vega. It’s a Consolidated Y1C-22, which was known in civilian dress as the Model 17 Fleetster.
Which brings us to our Interesting Fact of the Day™:
In 1932, the US Navy evaluated a carrier-borne dive bomber version of the Fleetster and assigned it the designation XBY-1. Though the Navy passed on what would have been a rather odd sight—dive bombing with a high-wing aircraft— the XBY-1 was the first !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! aircraft flown by the Navy, and the first Navy aircraft with “ !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ” fuel tanks in the wings.

The Fairey Barracuda would like you to get out of here with your anti-high-wing dive bomber prejudice :
Granted, that wing could still be higher, but I think it counts, and over 2600 were built.
