I was a teenager in the 80s, but my ear was deeply rooted in the 60s and 70s. I think I was born ten years too late.

Loosely related and very strange.

As I said to Foghat1981, I was a teenager of the 80s but my musical sensibilities were (and still are)  firmly rooted in the 60s and 70s. I think I was born 10 years too late.

I’ve been listening to Bryan Adams today. He was popular in the mid 80s when I was on active duty. I may make a post about it.

When I was a youngster also early 80s, my friends mostly had older siblings (who should not have been supplying us youngers with beer) so I knew the BadCo and Sabbath and Zeppelin. Went to the metal (have Ride the Lightning on original Metalforce pressing +++) I am a punk/post punk/death metal/doom guy anymore, but will always surprise you with tasty stuff. Please hit the Roky Ericson!

I am a professional musician living in Austin (Austin Symphony, Austin Opera) and have played many, many gigs with Roky’s tuba-playing brother Sumner. So even though I make made (thanks Covid) my living playing classical music, I never listen to it. The Who, The Doors, Zep, CSNY, Bad Company, Uriah Heep, Steely Dan, pretty much anything folk or roots,  etc. etc. etc.

I was born in 81 and definitely grew up on my dad’s music....mostly 60s classic rock (Beatles, Stones, Who, Jethro Tull, CCR, Moody Blues, etc.) He was never into Zeppelin so I got more into them & th e 70s when I was a teenager.
After Roth-era Van Halen, I think the Black Crowes are the newest band I’m into :)

Do you remember that show we watched one night on the Canadian vacation where that guy won the contest by crash ing his brother’s car through the garden?
