Even give the frame a once-over too. I can see it...
It might even lift that inside front tire...

Ever see the feature Speedhunters did? It’s a roller, but still.

DAMNIT! Maybe in these trying economical times he’d be willing to make some money. Group purchase? I don’t have an XJ-S yet, but blowing my stimulus check on fender flares would be a strong motivator.
Need this in my life.

Thanks for the lead. If I ever achieve the upper middle class, I’ll want to have this guys name in the Rolodex for my Jaguar build. Often these old cats still dabble and still have parts on hand or will build to order.

One day.. These cars make my top ten list (maybe even top five) and are number one in the V12 category. I’d like an early 5-speed car, but with them being pretty scarce, I’d pick up the nicest one I could find and work with Simply Performance on sourcing 5-Speed swap.
I think the size, look, sound, handling and moderate power would make for the ultimate driving experience on the backroads. You could wring a Jaguar out pretty good before going too too fast, unlike my bolt-on, LS1 Z28 that’s in the triple digits with a few flips of the loud pedal.
To me, the XJS is the anti-911. It’s underappreciated, has twice the cylinders, bigger, heavier, front engined, British and dirt cheap to buy.
This is why I want one.

The allure is for real! Jaguar is interesting because they’re below the radar, but have made some really awesome cars. I also like their extremely long model runs on the XJ and XJS. For a car company that’s been around so long, they really haven’t made that many different models. Ever look into the X300 XJR’s? The supercharged inline 6 is such a cool engine, and they were sold overseas with manuals. That said, sourcing a gearbox and swapping it over isn’t that big of a deal since you can use a Euro XJR unit or any ol’ Jaguar manual from the NA models.
The supercharged, V8 X308 that followed is much faster and more capable in every way, but I appreciate the X300 as it’s the pinnacle of the traditional straight 6 cats. They’ve also got a pretty solid reputation from a reliability stand point. As far as Jaguars go anyway.

I love how those X300s look!
Did not know about the swapable potential of these things, certainly something that I’ll be keeping in mind...and I’m a sucker for superchargers :)

You are talking to a guy who owns a 20 year old Mini and BMW, reliability was never a concern :P

Oh very nice. I’d love to see fat flared and deep dish weaves.

Agreed wholeheartedly. Big flares and no dish is a headscratching combination. That said, these cars have the same bolt pattern as GM cars like the F and G body. You could toss some GTA or GNX weaves on one for pretty cheap . They’ve even got them in 17" now.
