I rotated my tires. A lovely box from Rockauto full of parts showed up at the door too.

It has been one of the best I’ve had recently, which is to say it wasn’t entirely miserable. I found a few songs I like, ate some Chipotle, and am finishing up the afternoon with a pleasant pencil sketch.
Parts boxes are always exciting. What showed up this time?

My supervisor is required to spend one day a month working in the field with his direct reports, but, since we’re not allowed to go outside, he’s been doing it by phone. So, I basically spent 8 hours making mostly useless sales calls with my boss listening in and occasionally disconnecting.
I’ve got him again tomorrow, I think he’s running out of things to do.

I came home to boxes of both a new GPU and the new set of wheels for the Pajero. It was a good day.

I wrote some stuff and read some stuff and argued with the bad guys (well, really the ok guys who represent the bad guys) on the telephone, stopped by the office to use the printer and stretch my car’s legs, and then ate takeout dinner from my favorite sushi restaurant. Now I’m sipping sake on my deck and enjoying the view and the birdsong. Not a bad day overall.

I really only use power tools the bolt(or nut) is rusty, & needs extra force. Outside of that I don’t use many powertools.

Entirely uneventful. I didn’t get any stimulus money, I DID get another project that requires another drive to Texas, and I managed to not accomplish much of anything.
And this sounds very petty and impatient, but I am so effing tired of the dog going places and then deciding she doesn’t want to be there. She wants downstairs, she wants upstairs, she wants on the bed, she wants off the bed, she has been whining her goddamned ass off for days and I just can’t escape. I can still hear her whining from inside my bathroom . I don’t know how those of you quarantined with small children are surviving.

I got the equal of a stimulus check here. If you where laid off due to COVID-19, you are eligible for $2k for a period of time.

Nice. My direct deposit info was apparently not available or something, but I think it’s fixed now.
I might also be eligible for the unemployment measures they passed for self-employed people except my state apparently has to re-code their whole system to deal with it. So...not yet.

I’m about to have a lot going on. I graduate college in two weeks and I still don’t have a confirmed job. Though it’s kind of dull in my eyes, I’m gonna try a career fair for a certain industry to see if they have any sales positions. Everyone says it’s a downturn, but that’s because companies got scared and closed their doors. There isn’t a financial disaster from the nation’s leading banks; also, gas is cheap. You couldn’t say the same in 2008.
