This sold for a reasonable 11,900 (buyer looked like a ringer but has been dabbling in the s600s) thought the seller would have had a much higher reserve due to spend $1000 per mile in repairs alone. Surely an above average example which deserved a couple grand over retail book (which is where the other bidders dropped out)

I’d say well bought and well sold. Few could get a higher price on a local level, and for a picky buyer, getting one with nice cosmetics will be cheaper than fixing any wear and tear yourself. That car presented very well, a lot of 220s I see are looking a little sad these days.
I’m too chicken for something like that though.

This post made me go to BaT, which I usually avoid, because it gives me bad ideas. Saw this:

Want to sell a kidney now. Maybe my house. Cash in my retirement plan. Start turning tricks. I want it soooo bad.

Ha! I was jealous of the Fiat 850 buyer around 1500 bucks today! My poor 850 hides in the garage covered in bins of xmas decor!

Id been watching this just because. I thought reserve would be through the roof due to 27k in maintenance and repair over the last three years (!) Im guessing if you wanted one of these, this was the one to have! 24" Lexanis get punted into the future

Yep, let someone else spend all the money. If you’re into it, this is one to look at. I liked this car, but I don’t think I’d want to own one, I’d be anxious.
I see fair looking W221s for 10K these days, I think the lexani crowd has moved on to those - more modern styling and a lot easier to live with.
