Sometimes, people buy a brand new car and never ever drive it. Ever.
Take the 13,000 original miles on this 2000 V8 Toyota Tundra f or instance. Sure it’ s 2WD but if you don’t get 300,000 miles out of that V8 engine you are doing something very wrong. Just look at this thing. It’s perfect! And $16,500 is a bit steep for a Tundra but it is a basically new example of one of the most reliable trucks in recent memory. I do think the brown interior on higher spec models looks better though.

Or maybe if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, consider this 1985 Cadillac Coupe Deville for sale for just $4995 . The kicker is that it only has 25,000 miles on the odometer. This one is so amazing I wanted to use it as the title car, but the pictures are really terrible.
But really, this is still on its original tires (!). Absolutely incredible.

And If you want a more practical low mileage hero, this 1977 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham 4 door may appeal to you. Just below 30,000 original miles on it and it looks it. Nice color too. Unfortunately the description is just an all caps shout fest so there is no word on why this particular car was preserved.

It’s kind of hard to believe these are out there.

Screams “2000" so loud my ears hurt:
I think that year Caddy probably has a 4.1 which was a very unloved engine, offer a bit less . Pontiac is also optimistic but those are pretty good cars.

I love all of these. The malaise-era Bonneville is my favorite.
Low mileage normal cars are the best. I cherish my Sunbird for that reason. It has averaged 1,933 miles per year in the 30 years since it left Lordstown, Ohio in June 1990.

It's a Toyota truck with a Ford Taurus interior!

Yes but it does look better in brown. That was actually a pretty nice interior for the time and it is much larger inside than you might think.

There is something about a normal car that is given the love it deserves. I like your Sunbird for that reason and more, but I never realized Lordstown built it. My Cruze has averaged 15,000 miles a year since it rolled off that very same assembly line, but it had averaged 16,7 00 miles a year when I bought it, so it has had somewhat of an easier life over my ownership.

Yeah! Lordstown was J-Body central for a long time. 1982 - 2005 for the J itself. They also made the Cobalt/Pursuit and the Cruze up until GM closed them.

I am actually very impressed with the build quality in my Cruze. Nothing has fallen off or is even loose really. And it holds up when you compare it to American cars of the same era. My brother’s Fusion can’t hold a candle to Lordstown’s work and neither can (snicker) any FCA products I’ve seen . Even new Fords I’ve seen have build quality issues .

I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I guess 10 more miles makes a whole lot more difference at 13k miles than 130k miles, but I really can’t imagine it is worth stating.

That Pontiac only has 29,000 miles? What a small world! I pass it a lot!

Really? I put in a 100 mile search radius trying to catch old low mileage cars for this post and I happened to choose one you knew?
Wait, does this just sit outside? I would have thought garage kept.

It’s been displayed for sale outside since February at least. If you know west Cobb, it’s on a road between Macland and 278 (I don’t know if it’s right to publicly say the road), a few miles from Paulding County.

Well the Craigslist ad places it circa ______ , whose existence is publicl y traded knowledge. Redacted for your safety and mine.
It looks good but I would never imagine it was all original. Pretty c razy coincidence.

Lordstown built the J cars predecessors, too. Vega, Monza, etc from 1971-1982.

Oh no doubt, it’s not as spartan as a base Tacoma. Just looks like the era. My mom had a Taurus back then with a very similar interior color, and the dash reminds me of it too.

There isn’t a flat surface anywhere, which has proved problematic in mounting a phone holder.
