I’ve admittedly not been good with keeping up on exterior maintenance on my vehicle. The last time I really bought wax I used Meguiar’s Gold Class, but I wasn’t sure if there’s better things out there these days. So, what does everyone use these days to keep their cars looking good?

Side note, anyone know of any treatment (IE, ceramic coat?) that might help protect against rock chips?

I'd been using Meguiars products too, but ever since Svend sent me some Gtechniq products, I'm switching over to order Gtechniq stuff...

No coating is going to protect from road/stone chips. Gtechniq C1+ will offer a degree of scratch protection but even then it’s not going to offer a lot. Clear film or coloured wrap will give the vehicle a form of sacrificial layer to protect from minor chips but larger ones will still do damage.

My car is a disgrace right now with all of the rock chips.  I’ve never seen a car this bad.  Also, this is the first black car I’ve ever had, which I’m sure doesn’t help things.

Doesn’t look like C1+ is available for us in the US. Wonder why.

How long do you get out of a coating of that?  I’m reading roughly 2 years?  Can you build layers or should you strip it and start over?

Some sort of high quality waterless wash (i.e. Griots garage)

https://www.autogeek.net/pbsaw128.html

Klasse AIO

https://www.autogeek.net/klasalpolsea.html

Spray wax for regular maint

https://www.autogeek.net/ultima-acrylic-spray-wax.html

Collonite wax 2ce a year

https://www.autogeek.net/collinite-super-doublecoat—wax-476.html

No wax/sealer, etc will prevent rock chips.

I see Svend has already replied. If you go back in his posts hes got some on different products that he uses etc... Hes a master at gettin em clean! I stick with chemical guys products for the most part. I like a few things from Griot’s Garage, but their shit is really expensive. Other than that I like “Collinite 845 insulator wax” for winter time it’s really easy to use and lasts forever.

I have done just about ever paint treatment there is except for “paint correction”. The best one to deter against chips is clear bra...However it’s expensive to put on and have taken off.
