For some reason, 0% brightness isn’t off in the world of Google home automation. When I tell the system to set the brightness from 1% to 0% I can see that the light dims, but it doesn’t turn off.
Who would have guessed?
I did ask it to go to a negative percentage of brightness, but alas, it didn't turn my lamps into black holes...
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

Well, yeah - that’s what the 0% was for.
(Sometimes I start talking to it and realize I wanted the light off and tried to make a logical correction, but the damn thing just won’t play along...)
