Bad news: we have no power.

Good news: we got a free generator.

Bad news: it won’t stay running.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m getting good at taking this carb off.

Kinja'd!!!

It had some gross old gas but I changed it out with some fresh ethanol free gas and emptied the bowl. Bathed it liberally in carb cleaner. Pulled the jet and doused that in carb cleaner. It was all laqured up.

I can squirt carb cleaner in the chamber and it will fire right up. Must be some crap still built up in the carb.

Go on YouTube and look for a guy called Mustie1. He gets all sorts of cheap/free broken devices and goes through everything necessary to get them running, even if they haven’t run in half a century. His style is fun and conversational, and it’s almost like you’re there in the shop with him.

He has done quite a number of generators, and that’s actually how I found his channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcSeeATlWJJbXpOZRYOfaDg

These lead me down the right path and the generator lives again.

Awesome! I’m glad to hear that the generator is back up and running. Be sure to check out some of his other videos - they're a lot of fun.
