Good day fellow Oppos!

Kinja'd!!!

Here’s my latest bit on forgotten supercars for you to peruse at your leisure. Before writing it I didn’t know anything about the 6 wheeled Covini monstrosity, or that the Shelby Series 1 had a Oldsmobile Aurora  engine. Did I forget one you think should’ve been included?

Aha, the p oor man’s Pagani!  Actually, I think Spyker makes more stylish interiors than even Pagani, even though both are detail-obsessed.

Totally sad they didn’t build the two they had planned. I quite like the long wheelbase. It looks great to my eyes.

I’ve sat in a Spyker C8, the interior was very nice

What a cool experience. They certainly take at tention to detail to another level.

they really do, the exposed gear lever setup was particularly well crafted

I miss the gumpert. Sad they went under.

The panoz esparante needed a facelift over a decade ago. No ideah who would purchase one new or used.

I dont agree with the noble m12 being on this li st. They are very competitively priced used and their owners typically drive them often. It is somewhat obscure though.

Fair enough, I just don’t think many people in the states really think about them anymore. They make a ton of cool stuff that doesn’t get its due.

I think the series 1 has an oldsmobile engine in it. But I feel like most of that list is sports cars and not just supercars. But I like the ide. A few more for consideration:

Marcos Mantis LM500

Kinja'd!!!

Gillet Vertigo

Kinja'd!!!

Mclaren-Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss

Totally right! Fixed it. My mind was on Chrysler for another piece I’m working on. Anyway.

I can see that perspective. It’s all so fluid these days it seems. Hypercars , Supercars, Sports cars that do 200mph...

GREAT other cars. The Vertigo. That thing was wild in Gran Turismo.

I love Marcos’ if just for the fact that they literally look like they slithered onto land from the great depths of the Atlantic. That said, their swan song the TSO was a legitimately great looking GT car.

themanwithsauce reminded me that Marcos exists and in my opinion the TSO was their prettiest by far, though I’d be hard pressed to take it against the Fighter

Kinja'd!!!

and of course, every TVR, though also not super obscure and they went a bit dormant in the 2000's after the Speed cars of the late ‘90s

They are even more lovely to drive. If I find just the right one.... I know just the right someone to convince  and buy it.

I dunno, I don’t think having an Oldsmobile Aurora engine would be that bad...
