My county council grounds maintenance had an old LT crewcab up until about ten years ago. The thing was wide, very slow, noisy but kept on going.
I can’t imagine a German fire s ervice suing them as fire vehicles, but they did.

Cool. This guy near me has a Mercedes Swiss fire vehicle, it’s a van, a little bigger than this and a pump is mounted on the front bumper. I think he’s making a camper and keeping the exterior original.

I should have included the whole ad text:
“ 1983 VW LT35 Van - PROJECT. This LT35 has had its original diesel engine and manual transmission removed. The original engine and transmission are included with the sale. The intent was to install a 4bt Cummins diesel engine and an Alison transmission. The frame cut Cummins/Alison combination is also included with the sale. The sourced engine is a ISB170 - I have a video of the engine running from when it was purchased. Serious inquiries only, please. I have nearly $15k invested and am looking to recover half of that investment at $7500.”
