I know you really want to see this, I did have one issue but I have a solution. The old nuts welded to the seat frame are shot, so I drilled right through them and through the cross member so I can put a nut on the other side of it and get new bolts to go through the base. I can use the original washers though. Yes the frame looks gnarly but it was pretty rusty so the Miracle paint was needed, it is crazy stuff. But nobody will see it, I coated the bad bits and it even fused the wire I used to the frame so it’s all pretty secure.

A quick fitting, I have a memory foam cushion in there and it’s comfortable for a little bucket seat. If I an find an old beat up one of these in the future for cheap I might make an office chair out of it, or maybe an older WWII WC bucket seat.

The bottom part of the frame in the one corner fell apart so I swooped one of the thicker wire parts around the corner and wired it, then the miracle paint fused it all together.

These were some pretty tough recycled insulation pads from our food delivery service, I ripped open the envelopes they are in and found they were really good for this, so I rolled them up and shoved them between the coils. Has to be better than burlap and horsehair.

Frame was thin pressed metal so it didn’t last so well, but the spring coils just have surface rust like most of the thick Dodge metal.

My friend has a box of oil to sit on right now if he moves it into the garage.
