Once they started locking down the state I realized I was going to be stuck spending a lot of time at home, so I bought a bunch of supplies to get to some of my house projects. Bi g on that list is upgrading the garage.
I ran new wiring for additional plugs through the walls, then added insulation to the rear wall (and as far up the side walls as I had s upplies for), and sheathed them in plywood.
So me priming happened, but it has been too cold to finish.
The i re-arranged all the benches/etc. and added wall cabinets.
It is much nice in here now, and I have been slowly organizing everything so it will be easier to work in here.
This is the woodworking area. The table saw and its stand tucks under the benc h for the miter saw.
This is the welding area. Th is pic is before I started really organizing here.
Welded racks for welding PPE.
Modified an Ikea cart to hold my grinders and other welding supplie s.
I still need to organize and find places for the huge pile of stuff taking up an entire bay, but I can get a car in here and reach everything I need to work on it for the first time since we moved in last fall.

That IKEA cart is bad to the bone. I may have to steal that idea.

I was suitably impressed by it as well.

My grandpa and I are reorganizing his garage when the weather warms up. Your garage looks about the size of his garage, but I don’t know for sure because he has a lot of junk in his. What’s the story behind the tailgate hanging on the wall.

Go for it, those carts a re super useful. I have a second one (you can just see in one shot) that I installed the top basket of upside down, it gives me a small work surfac e and two baskets and is surprisingly useful as well

Looks nice. My wife and I are in negotiations about cabinets. What did you go with?

Back from 1998-2004 I drove an artcar call The Cat, which had over 750 different quotes and says written all over it. When it died I skinned the hood and tailgate and kept them as momentos.

They are from Ikea, but I discovered when I got them home and read the instructions that the y are not intended for hanging on the wall. I added a bunch of extra screws to them to make them more solid, and had to make mounting brackets to secure them properly .

win!
coronavirus lockdown has been a godsend for you (in a perverse sort of way)

My partner has asthma and prior lung damage, so we have been in full lockdown for coming up on 4 weeks. One trip for groceries per week, and trips to get her meds and that is it.
I needed something to keep me busy amd keep my mind off her health.
