I smoked something for the first time today. A very cheap hunk of bottom round. I’m pleased with the results.

Kinja'd!!!

I’ ve loved this Komado grill for bbqing and wanted to give my hand at smoking it.

Stay safe and try to learn something new during this crazy time!

I’m gonna make bacon burgers on the barbeque, with peppers and potatoes on the side.

What’s the trick to preparing that so you don’t taste the  human?

Smoked dead animal is always good, well done!

We’re having jalapeno bacon corn chowder with homemade biscuits.

That looks delicious. We did chicken, cheese , broccoli and rice last night in our new instant pot and quite liked it.

I’ve just ordered a king size cheeseburger, tray of doner meat and a large (by UK standards) bottle of Coke.

Ye’, I forgot to order chips.

The king size burger was just three burgers stacked but it’s okay.

It’s the sort of better of two evils I guess. Some make a large single burger and it’s well done and juice on the outside, but the middle is dry and yuck.

Ham, potatoes au gratin, and fried ocra. Since I fried the ocra, I took a couple of pics to share. Everything was fantastic, but I have to think that my grandma would have been proud (fried ocra was one of her favorites).

Very nice! I'm headed to the butcher tomorrow to get a brisket to smoke for Passover this week. I use a Weber smoker, and love it. There's someone on here that smokes competitively, but I can't remember the name at the moment

I utterly failed at making glaze so just slapped the frosting on top and called it a day. Giant donut it is

I like a large burger medium rare, outside isn’t burnt and the inside is nice and juicy.

Oh man do I LOVE fried okra! That looks amazing.

I bought a couple bags of it to put in the freezer, I'll have to cook them here in the next week or so.

That should be tasty. This one is small, but it’s just the Mrs and me so it’s usually enough . I do wish it was large enough to do a whole brisket though.

We did that on Friday. It’s something we normally do maybe twice a month and it's a pretty good local chain but it was terrible this time.

There are certain places that do it lik e I like but takeaway deliveries air on the safe side and cook the hell out of it, plus even o nes that aren’t, by the time I gets delivered has kept cooking for a while, then got lukewarm.

Thanks!  We’ve tried the pre-breaded frozen and it was ok. This was pre-cut but wasn’t breaded. I made a quick breading (2 parts corn meal, 1 part flour, salt to taste), thawed the ocra, breaded them in a big bowl , then fried them. The trick is to finish them off in a 350 degree oven to make sure they are fully softened, but crispy.

We don’t use the pre-breaded stuff just pre-sliced and frozen. My wife has Celiac s (can’t eat gluten) so the breading we usually use is cornmeal, salt, pepper and some other things (she’s the chef).

We usually just eat them straight out of the fryer, but I’ll have to try the oven thing.

That sucks. It was a little cold when my pizza arrived. Not sure what that’s about but it tasted fine. Postmates adds a huge upcharge on the better pizza place near me so when I do delivery, I get it from this weird Halal pizza place and get some of their homemade hummus with my order. Weird combo, but the hummus is OUTSTANDING.

Come to think of it, the homemade pita bread was piping hot so my guess is that the pizza was waiting on the pita bread.
