Best Buy is desperate to sell TVs... So I caved to their escalating demands.

Kinja'd!!!

Bought a 65" Vizi0 M658-G1. It was $599 and I payed with Paypal Credit, so I’ve got 6 months at 0% to pay it off...

This marks my transition to a really big, 4k TV. I’ve had a 48" 1080p Samsung U6200 for... what, 5 years now, I guess... since before we bought the new house. We have a much larger TV room now . I also plan to buy a PS5, so I figure a TV that was over $1100( msrp) last fall, and still gets praise in reviews vs newer sets, is a fine choice. I guess the Corona stimulus check worked?

I bought a 65" TV to replace the 50" I had. Turns out I need a bigger living room or a lower TV stand... Have fun with the TV, it’s wild how good a 4k picture can be.

Why, yes. I am a 44 year old man watching a teen high school drama.

Watch some 4k demo videos on YouTube. Unfortunately hd cable isn’t 4k

Congrats. Our previous TV was a Vizio, and it was a solid purchase.

I am a streaming and OTA only household. Though I guess I would need to upgrade my Netflix to the 4k account level , then again I don’t think my internet is even fast enough to support 4K streaming...

4K content is so nice.

The Amazon 4K firestick is a really good little 4K device, your TV will probably have it’s own apps, but I find they quickly get outdated while the firestick will be smoother and get the latest app updates. And if you have Prime Amazon has a lot of 4K streaming content included. Netflix charges extra for 4K quality streaming (boooo).

Disney+ also has StarWars, Marvel, and all those goodies in 4K (included in the base price)

Youtube has some really nice 4K 60fps nature and drone shots to show off.

I just went through that decision making process when my 73" rear projection went out. Step down to 65" for $400 vs the same 75" for $800 vs upgrade to 85" for $1600? Or replace the DLP chip ($350 ) myself.

I went with size (and price) over quality and bought an old refurb 1080p Epson front projector for $500 and it’s set to 120". I figure as long as I don’t know what I’m missing with modern 4K, HDR, local dimming, etc, I’ll be happy.

Looking at my bank statement, it feels like I’ve been doing this, at least so far as cases of beer to go from my favorite local brewery, coffee and pastries on the way to work from the best coffee roaster in the state and car parts. Oh so many car parts the last month.
