Someone thought he was a movie hero. Tried to crash a train into a naval hospital ship because he thought it was part of a government conspiracy.

Is this the first Trainlopnik/Boatlopnik crossover episode?

So he derailed a train in an incredibly dangerous stunt, filming it himself to bring media attention to a c oronavirus relief ship. Duh, what else would you do.

“ I had to just wake people up!”
Lol. I’m pretty sure everyone already noticed the giant ship with a red cross on it.

If feel like there’s been a more recent post, but either way the SS Badger was built as a rail ferry:

“Moreno has been charged with one count of train wrecking”
Specific charge which probably never gets laid, but I’m all for it.
The story gets more absurd the more I read.

You will be led to judgement like lambs to the slaughter—a simile whose existence, I might add, will not do your species any favors.

Hey, what are the odds — five Ayn Rand fans on the same train! Must be going to a convention.

i have a feeling we’re going to be seeing more and more wierd shit like this the longer this whole corona thing drags on
social distancing and self isolation is really bringing out the crazy in the crazies

That is the most piercing, accurate panel they have ever made. It gets more depressing as I get older.

I was about to comment on that too - that’s one charge I’d never heard before.

Same, had no idea that was a specific crime.

You'd be shocked at what things are crimes.

They’re all going to have a contest to see who can use the word “bromide” the most in a single sentence...

Oh I know, but if you wreck a car or an airplane there’s no specific “car wrecking” or “plane wrecking” charges I’m aware of. You usually get charged with stuff like unsafe operation of a vehicle, public endangerment, maybe assault with a deadly weapon, etc. I would have assumed train wrecking fell under something like that.

Judge: “What are the charges?”
Prosecutor: “Train wrecking.”
Judge: ?
Prosecutor: “Defendant tried to wreck a train into a ship.”
Judge: “tried to....wha? what? [shakes head] Tried to wreck a train into a ship?”
Prosecutor: “Yes, your honor.”
Judge: [To defendant] “For the benefit of the court, may I ask ‘what the actual fuck?’” [thinks to self: And I thought I’d go my entire career without a goddamn ‘wrecking a train into a ship’ case]

I assume it’s a relic of the tremendous power of the 19th and early 20th century railroads.

In Atlas Shrugged, Rand used the arcane word “bromide” multiple times.

Ah. Never read it. I should have put the text in quotes because it's the alt-text from the webcomic. Too late now, I suppose.
